With so much to see and do in Blackpool, we can only show you a selection of what Blackpool has to offer.  * Newlands 'Lord of the Rings' Dining Room revamped for the 2008 season
- The Newlands Hotel's 'Middle Earth' dining room has been completely refurbished for the coming season. Now even more models, pictures and memorabillia from the Lord of the
Rings film trilogy. A must for J.R.R Tolkien and Peter Jackson fans.
* 'Smoking rooms' allocated - In an effort to avoid discriminating against our smoking and non-smoking guests, we have been allowed to designate 3 of our rooms as 'smoking allowed'. The Newlands welcomes smokers but please remember 'always extinguish your cigarette before retiring for the night or leaving your room and NEVER smoke in bed'.
* Newlands installs digital 'freeview' - New for 2007 is the addition of digital TV (with built in freeview) in all rooms.
* Newlands open a further two en suite rooms. The Newlands hotel have added a third en suite family room and a 'no smoking' double en-suite room (complete with four poster bed!). We would like to say a big 'thank you' to 'the En-suite Bathroom Company Ltd. for the great job done.
* Newlands receives prestigious environmental award. Phil & heather attended the 'Green Tourism' award ceremony in June 2005 to be presented with a plaque and certificate for the successful implementation of their environmental policy.

Blackpool Illuminations - Fri 29th August 2008 (celebrity switch on by the 'Top Gear' team - Richard Hammond, Jeremy Clarkson and James May) through to Sun 2nd November 2008 (fireworks display at the pleasure Beach).
World Firework Championships 2008 - Top firework companies from around the world will stage
displays on the Central
Promenade during the opening weeks of Blackpool's Illuminations season. The first display is on Sunday 31st August with subsequent displays every friday throughout September (5th, 12th, 19th, with grand final on 26th).
